Description: This data set represents all known businesses in the city of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and is intended to be used for general reference and mapping. Data are originally sourced from the city's Business and Resource List Access database and were permanently moved into GIS in January of 2020. Records are officially maintained and update by the Economic Development team.This list is a best to our knowledge collection of businesses. There is no required general business license in Brooklyn Park, so we can only include businesses we're aware of existing through various unofficial channels.

Description: This data set represents the Neighborhoods of the city of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and is intended to be used for general reference and mapping. Neighborhoods were officially established on June 2nd, 2014 by the Brooklyn Park City Council.These neighborhoods were originally discussed by residents at "Community Cafes" in each of the 3 elections wards in February and March of 2014. The draft boundaries and names were identified in March 2014 by the Neighborhoods Task Force, a group of 12 appointed residents from the Brooklyn Park commmunity. Those boundaries and names were up for public comment until May 13th, 2014, at which time the Neighborhoods Task Force took all comments, worked with neighborhoods to come to a concensus, and identified the final boundaries and names of the neighborhoods. Council approved the Neighborhoods on June 2nd, 2014.
